About Dance FUNdamentals
Classes for 4-8 Year Olds
At Dance FUNdamentals, we believe in the power of play-based learning. Our dance curriculum is designed to help young children develop their coordination, rhythm, and creativity in a fun and supportive environment. Our classes are held on MONDAYS at Electric Theater in St. George, UT, and are taught by experienced instructor Jennie Jones. The 4-6 year old class is held Mondays from 10:30-11:15am, the 6-8 year old class is held Mondays from 11:30am-12:15pm, and the beginning ballet ages 8+ is held Mondays from 12:15-1:15.
Meet the Instructors
Our instructors at Dance FUNdamentals are dedicated to helping your child learn and grow through dance. Jennie Jones and Alexis Nielsen have years of experience teaching young children and are passionate about fostering a love for dance in every student.
Jennie Jones
Jennie has over 25 years of teaching experience in a variety of dance genres, in both the private and public sectors. After teaching dance for four years in an elementary school, and starting to raise her own family of three boys, she decided there must be a more joyful way to teach music and movement to wiggly bodies. Her love of children, play and dance combined in the unique curriculum, Dance FUNdamentals.
Jennie brings her love of modern and ballet technique, as well as years of choreography experience to Dance FUNdamentals. She is passionate about teaching children the foundational skills that will allow them to succeed in dance, no matter the genre in which they choose to specialize. After graduating from Southern Utah University with her Bachelor's in Dance Performance, Alexis performed professionally for several seasons at Tuacahn Center for the Arts. Alexis went on to teach at several local dance studios in St. George and enjoyed choreographing and performing in local theater productions at St George Musical Theater and Hurricane Theatrical. Alexis loved having the opportunity to teach 1st-3rd grade at Vista School. This is where her love of play-based creative movement started and still continues today!
